It's finally here.

After almost two years of preparation, version 1.5.0 - TEMPOBEAST's second ever release - is fresh out of the oven. This update is packed with new features, quality-of-life improvements, optimizations and bug fixes. Let's take a quick look at the highlights, shall we?

NEW GAMEMODE: mash

What began as a PC experiment has now become part of the core TEMPOBEAST experience. Fully optimized for mobile and running smoothly. With this integration, the original swipe-and-tap gamemode has officially been named flow.

mash is currently available as a beta and I'll continue refining it in upcoming updates.

NEW FEATURE: Offline Mode

Offline mode has been a must-have since day one. Starting with version 1.5.0, you can now download levels from nodes, or import them directly from your local Android files for easy sharing with no node setup required.

QOL IMPROVEMENT: Track Selector

Scrolling through a small dropdown wasn't ideal. The new track selection view makes browsing through tracks smoother, with offline support in mind.

QOL IMPROVEMENT: Settings Menu

Settings now have their own dedicated page, allowing for quicker adjustments and even more customization in the future.

QOL IMPROVEMENT: Toggle Haptics

Your phone's vibration motor didn't receive enough love from the manufacturer? You can now disable haptics right from the settings menu.

QOL IMPROVEMENT: Loading Times

Loading times have been significantly reduced. Hop into the flow in seconds.

QOL IMPROVEMENT: Newsroom

CORE CHANGES:

Lots of bits were changed under the hood for better efficiency and support for upcoming features.

NODE UPDATE:

The TEMPOBEAST Node has been updated to version 1.5.0, featuring optimizations and full compatibility with the new client.

WHAT'S NEXT?

TEMPOBEAST: MASH (PC EXPERIMENT)

With mash now integrated into the mobile experience, support for the experimental PC version of MASH has ended. It is now considered deprecated and will not receive any further updates. This flavor of TEMPOBEAST will remain available for download as a legacy release.

THE ROAD AHEAD

Following this release, the roadmap for what's coming next looks like this:

- Improvements to mash (enhanced visual effects)

- Stats tracking

- Improvements to the track selector, with search, filters and pagination

- Multiplayer

- Improved mapping experience (Mapping in-game & offline)

With a lot of the groundwork now done, future updates should arrive much faster. Version 1.5.0 required rethinking some core systems, but that should make everything smoother going forward.
